Faucet Repair & Replacement

Drippy, Wobbly or Dated Faucets, Fixed

Need a new kitchen faucet or a shower that finally holds its temperature? Call Geek Plumbing Services for fixture work that's done neatly and explained clearly.

Faucet & Fixture Repair & Replacement

Drip. Drip. Drip. It's the soundtrack of a worn-out faucet, and it never sounds louder than at 2 a.m. Good news: faucet repair is often a small job. A worn cartridge, washer or O-ring is behind most drips, and swapping it brings the faucet back to life. When the faucet itself is shot, or you're just ready for something that doesn't look like it came with the house, we handle faucet installation and fixture replacement too. It's one of the most common residential plumbing calls we get around Asheville, NC.

Faucet Repair or Replacement? Here's How We Decide

We repair when the faucet body is in good shape and parts are still available. That's usually the less expensive fix, and the faster one. We recommend replacement when the body is cracked or corroded, parts are discontinued, the finish is flaking or the faucet has been repaired so many times it's held together by hope. Either way, you get the honest version and options that fit your budget.

Kitchen Faucet Replacement

Kitchen faucets work hard. Pull-down sprayers leak at the hose, handles loosen and bases drip into the cabinet. A replacement is a good time to check the shut-off valves under the sink too, since we're already under there.

Bathroom Faucet Replacement

A new bathroom faucet is one of the quickest ways to make a dated bathroom feel fresh. Before you buy, count the holes in your sink or vanity top (one hole or three) and measure the spacing. We can help you pick something that fits, and we'll replace the supply lines and pop-up drain while we're at it if they need it.

Shower Valve and Cartridge Replacement

If your shower swings from scalding to freezing, drips after you turn it off or has a handle that takes two hands to move, the cartridge inside the valve is the usual suspect. Replacing the cartridge is often all it takes. When the valve body itself is failing, or you want a different style of trim, shower valve replacement means working behind the wall, and we'll talk through how to keep that opening small. Tub spouts with a diverter that won't send water up to the showerhead are fair game too.

Outdoor Faucets and Hose Bibs

Mountain winters are rough on outdoor faucets. A hose left connected through a freeze can trap water and split the pipe just inside the wall, and you won't see the leak until spring when you turn it on. A frost-free hose bib keeps the shut-off point inside the warm part of the house. If you suspect a split pipe behind an outdoor faucet, our leak detection page explains how we find it.

Geek tip: weak flow from just one faucet? Unscrew the aerator at the tip and rinse it out. Often that tiny screen is packed with mineral grit, especially if you're on hard well water.

When It's Not the Faucet

Sometimes a faucet gets blamed for something else. If every fixture in the house has weak flow, look at low water pressure instead. And if you're swapping faucets as part of a bigger kitchen or bathroom update, our remodel plumbing work covers moving supply and drain lines and installing everything new.

What to Expect

What Our Customers Say

Faucet & Fixture FAQs

Still have questions? Call us at (828) 344-5244 or browse our full plumbing FAQ.

Which faucet should I pick?

Start with how you use the sink and how many holes your counter or sink has. From there it's finish, handle style and budget. Tell us what you're spending and we'll suggest options that fit, from simple and sturdy to a little fancier.

Can you replace a shower cartridge or the whole valve?

Yes, both. A cartridge swap fixes most temperature and dripping problems. If the valve body is worn out or you're changing styles, we replace the valve too.

Why does my faucet drip even when it's turned off all the way?

Something inside isn't sealing anymore. In older two-handle faucets that's usually a rubber washer or seat; in single-handle faucets it's typically the cartridge or O-rings. Cranking the handle harder won't fix it and can wear the parts faster.

Do you fix outdoor faucets and hose bibs?

We do. Dripping spigots, handles that won't turn, freeze-damaged hose bibs and swaps to frost-free models are all on the list.

Can I buy my own faucet and have you install it?

Yes. Bring your own faucet or fixture and we'll install it. If you haven't bought it yet, count the holes in your sink first so the new one fits.

How long does a faucet installation take?

About an hour for a typical install.

Why is water leaking around the faucet handle?

That's usually a worn O-ring or packing around the stem, or a loose part under the handle. It's a common repair and usually doesn't mean you need a new faucet.
